Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

This course walks you through every stage of becoming a competent recreational or commercial drone pilot. You will master preflight procedures, decode sectional charts and LAANC airspace authorisations, dial in camera and gimbal settings for smooth aerial video, and build the battery and landing discipline that keeps every flight safe. By the end you will have the knowledge to pass the Part 107 (USA) or Transport Canada Basic RPAS exam and fly confidently in real-world conditions.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Complete a thorough preflight inspection and controller setup before every flight

02

Identify controlled and restricted airspace using sectional charts, B4UFLY, and the DroneZone portal

03

Apply Part 107 and Transport Canada Basic RPAS exam knowledge to pass the written test

04

Configure ISO, shutter speed, white balance, and ND filters for sharp aerial video

05

Manage LiPo battery cycles, storage voltage, and safe charging to extend pack life

06

Select safe landing zones and execute emergency procedures including Return-to-Home overrides
