Course Overview

What this course is designed to develop

Great teams don't happen by accident — they're built through deliberate leadership decisions made every day. This course teaches the foundational disciplines that first-time and developing leaders need: structuring team roles so accountability is unambiguous, applying motivation research to real individuals, running conversations that hold people to commitments without damaging trust, and embedding the cultural habits that sustain high performance over time. Each module draws on established models — RACI, Self-Determination Theory, the SBI feedback model, Lencioni's Five Dysfunctions — translated into immediately usable tools you can deploy in your next team meeting.

Learning Outcomes

What the learner should be able to understand, build, or execute.

01

Define clear roles and ownership using the RACI framework to eliminate ambiguity on any team

02

Apply Self-Determination Theory to diagnose what actually drives each team member and tailor your approach

03

Conduct structured 1-on-1s that surface issues early and keep individuals progressing toward goals

04

Deliver situation-behaviour-impact feedback that changes performance without triggering defensiveness

05

Design and run accountability check-ins that reinforce commitments without micromanaging

06

Identify and address the cultural dysfunctions — absence of trust, fear of conflict, avoidance of accountability — that silently cap team output
